Poultry meat consumption trends in Romania Neomar Consulting launches the results of a national market study that aims to analyze Romanians’ habits regarding chicken consumption.
The study was conducted on a sample of 520 people, men and women aged 18 and over, from urban areas, who used to cook at least once a
week.
The data of the study reveal current consumption trends for poultry meat, a perspective of market evolution, but also the top of the most
popular chicken recipes cooked by Romanians.
The results of the study place chicken meat in the top of Romanians’ preferences. Thus, in terms of the types of meat consumed most often,
chicken meat is the most common choice, 7 out of 10 Romanians claiming to use it to prepare meals several times a week. At the same
time, 95% of people who cook at least weekly consume this type of meat.
The types of chicken meat most often used in Romanian kitchens are chicken breast (82%), chicken legs (77%) and lower chicken legs
(72%), but other categories such as meatballs, wings and gizzards are also to their liking. The ways they prefer to cook them frequently are in
the oven (81%), in food (75%) and grilled (68%).
