Neomar Consulting has recently completed a study providing a detailed and updated picture of the distribution market for construction materials, fittings, and finishes in the following counties: Alba, Bistrița-Năsăud, Cluj, Hunedoara, Sibiu, Mureș, and Vâlcea.

The study, conducted as a telephone opinion survey, involved 400 potential distributors. Of these, 169 relevant companies actively involved in the distribution of: concrete blocks, bricks, cement, plasterboard, tiles and ceramics, paints and varnishes, wood, dry mortars and adhesives, reinforced steel, parquet/doors/windows, polystyrene, steel profiles, galvanized steel sheet, steel pipes, roofing tiles and coverings, glass or basalt mineral wool.

The sample was selected based on relevant CAEN codes for the industry, and the analysis included additional data sources such as Neomar Consulting databases and internet searches. Main retail chain stores (DIY) operating in the counties of interest were also included in the sample.

To estimate the revenues generated from the sale of construction materials, fittings, and finishes at the county level, weights of macroeconomic data (authorized area, built area, and resident population) at the national level were used, which were then correlated with the total revenues of each player, obtained exclusively from the sale of construction materials, divided by the number of sales outlets in each county of interest. Data from the opinion survey were supplemented with the official financial information of each company (turnover, profit).
